The Aframax tanker, Montiron is in port. The ship was built in 2003 by Sanoyas, of Osaka, Japan. It flies under the Liberian flag, but is owned by Seaarland Shipping Management, of the Netherlands, who provide extensive technical information here.

Seaarland has a pdf on their site relating to piracy and their policy of routing all of their ships via the Cape of Good Hope unless they can secure a military escort through the Gulf of Aden. Apparently, the concern is well-founded: On February 24 near the Gulf of Aden,

The 74,000 dwt Liberian-flag panamax tanker Lia, commercially managed by Amsterdam-based Seaarland Shipping Managemen … escaped a pirate attack thanks to swift action by EURONAVFOR warships. (via Cargo Security Int’l)
